Nothing in this world can prove its own existence by itself. I exist through meeting you, and I become a part of the world through places that preserve past memories. In this sense, this exhibition may be merely a brief elegy for the disappearing Youngdo Bridge. However, by generating a 'form of absence' from a non-existent entity, it is also a record of creation that allows the bridge to dwell within us forever. This is because the essence lies not in what is seen, but in how one sees it. As long as this question remains valid, we will never be able to erase the Youngdo Bridge from within ourselves.

세상의 모든 사물은 제 스스로 자신의 존재를 증명하지 못한다. 너를 만남으로써 내가 있고, 지난 기억을 보존해 줄 장소를 통해 나는 세상의 무엇이 된다. 그런 의미에서 이 전시는 지워질 영도다리에 대한 작은 조사(弔詞)에 불과할 수도 있겠지만, 부재하는 존재로부터 부재의 형식을 생성해 냄으로써 영도다리를 영원히 우리 곁에 머물도록 하는 생성의 기록이기도 하다. 중요한 것은 보이는 것이 무엇이냐가 아니라 어떻게 볼 것이냐이기 때문에 그러하고, 이 질문이 유효한 한 우린 결코 영도다리를 우리 속에서 지워버릴 수 없을 것이기 때문에 그러하다.
