Busan possesses a remarkably solid memory of space—a solidity felt through the eyes of one who collects the memories of a place. Perhaps this is because it is a port city facing the sea, or because of its many scars of history. Unlike the bustling main streets, the alleys are dry marks where time has slowed down or lagged behind. They make us feel that stories from the other side of memory still share the present time with us.

부산은 공간의 기억이 무척이나 단단하다. 장소의 기억을 채집하는 자의 눈으로 느끼는 그 단단함이 있다. 바다와 맞닿은 항구라서, 역사의 생채기가 많아서 그럴지도 모른다. 골목은 번화가와는 다르게 멈춰있거나 뒤쳐진 시간이 더디게 마르는 자국이다. 기억 저편의 이야기가 아직도 우리와 시간을 같이하고 있다는 것을 느끼게 한다.
